Are you ready to be inspired by a new yarn line and start dreaming of all the possibilities you could make with it?! Keep reading on my full review and a closer look on how this new yarn from Knit Picks knits up.
What is Knit Picks Kindred Yarn?
Kindred is a brand new yarn line for Knit Picks using 65% of Baby Alpaca with 35% Pima cotton making this a perfect blend. It's perfect for someone who is sensitive to wool or who is wanting a wool free option. The cotton mixed in with the Alpaca creates this amazing marled effect.
This is definitely a soft yarn and I would use for any project next to skin. It doesn't feel itchy or prickly next to the skin at all, which makes it very comfy! I love the softness the baby alpaca gives while the cotton is twined around the yarn holding it together creating a marled effect when knitted up.

In this yarn line they have 11 new colours. The three they sent my way were Salt Water, Raspberry Cordial and Teacake. I love the colours of this range how they have both summery and warmer colours.
I decided to knit up a swatch to see how the yarn knits up and felt on my needles. This was a new blend of yarn that I had never used before.
I swatched on a US 8 and used Raspberry Cordial for my sample swatch.
I LOVED knitting up this swatch, the yarn felt amazing. It was soft and didn't split on my needles. I also loved the stitch definition the yarn gave. You can really see this through my swatches.
I would recommend any accessory patterns for this yarn, I even think a beautiful summer tee would be stunning in all these pastels colours. The cotton helps to hold the alpaca in place so it doesn't grow too much over time. Some designers knit up some fun patterns with this yarn.
